Krithi Ramamritham has been a professor in the department of Computer Science and Engineering since 2001 and is currently the Head, Centre for Urban Science and Engineering. He completed his B Tech in Electrical Engineering (1976) and M.Tech in computer Science (1978) both from IITMadras. He completed his Ph D from the University of Utah. He had been also been a Professor in the University of Massachusetts, Amherst from the year 1981 to 2001. His research explores timeliness and consistency issues in computer systems, in particular, databases, real-time systems, and distributed applications. His recent work addresses these issues in the context of dynamic data in sensor networks, embedded systems, smart grids, mobile environments and the web.
