Mr. Sirdesai has strong experience in Healthcare/ Pharma and FMCG and has worked in various roles like Strategy, Advisory Services, Operations, Manufacturing and Marketing in this sector, and has developed a strong network across the Indian healthcare sector at the Senior Management Level. He has worked in large professional companies as well as family run organizations in an entrepreneurial framework.
Mayur is currently Director at Somerset Indus Capital Partners, a healthcare focused PE fund investing in the SME sector of healthcare in India including Pharma, Medical Devices, Diagnostics, Specialty Clinics, Budget Hospitals and allied areas of healthcare.
Prior to his current role, Mayur Established a medical device company called Lexicon MedTech based on Israeli MedTech products in the area of Sleep Medicine and Cardiology Diagnostics. He also founded a company called Stemade Biotech in the area of Stem Cells Banking and Research with focus on areas, such as Dental Stem Cell Banking and Treatment based on Israeli Technology.
As a Principal at IMS Health, Mr. Sirdesai headed the consulting business of the firm in India and developed strategic consulting solutions in the areas of Portfolio Optimisation, Market Entry, Growth Strategies, Licensing, Acquisition, Sales Force Effectiveness, Doctor Profiling and Targeting, Pricing and Reimbursement, Market Access, Market Assessments and Entry Strategies, Performance Management, Promotional Management, Branding strategy, OTC and Rural Marketing.
Early in his career, Mayur was actively involved in his family business, Kare Group, wherein he developed a contract manufacturing business dealing with high volume, high quality formulation, manufacturing for large reputed multinational and Indian pharmaceutical companies.
He was instrumental in establishing an organization to market formulations, covering South India, and developed the entire organization structure including Marketing, Sales, Product Development, Distribution and Financial operations.
Mayur graduated from IIT Bombay in Chemical Engineering in 1987 and then did a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University and an MBA in Finance from University of Texas at Austin.
