Deepak Vaidya was born in Bombay and raised in Pune, India. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a Master’s Degree in Polymer Science from the University of Akron, Ohio. He later attended Purdue University and received a Master’s Degree in Industrial Administration in 1976. After working with his father’s rubber company, Deepak returned to Akron in the late ’70s. In the early ’80s he switched his career and worked in the computer industry. Dee (as he is fondly called) and his wife started TechniGraphics, Inc. Dee acquired the tiny TGS Technology division of Johnson Controls in Fort Collins, Colorado, which was a federal contractor for Geospatial Intelligence Systems (GIS). TechniGraphics, Inc. was featured in Inc. magazine’s list of the 500 fastest growing American companies in September 2006. Dee and Mary sold TechniGraphics Inc., with over 400 employees, to CACI in November 2010. NobleTek, a separate company today, is the Engineering Services and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) division of TechniGraphics Inc. Dee is Chairman of the Board of this 150-employee technology company, which has customers on three continents. Dee acquired RDM Equipment Co. in 2012 and serves as its President. A U.S. flag was flown over the United States Capitol in Dee’s honour on November 6, 2013, for his service to the country.
